The Music of Irland is known as Celtic music from the British Islands, that includes traditional English music , Welsh , Scotish & Pirate Music. Dances and Folk songs were developed, known as Jigs or Reels. What is the difference between Jigs & Reels? The timing is different: Reels are the most popular and they are played in either 2/4 or 4/4. Jigs are played in 3/6, or 9/8 time. Reels are usually a bit faster than a jigs.
