Before the year 2021 when I could fly to USA, travel around in Europe, East Asia, India, Mexico and Hawaii I used to combine local concerts & local festival performances with Gypsy Accordion Workshops.
I used to meet students of all levels, many had really beautiful Accordions! In Hong Kong I gave a class to advanced students, they were really good musicians, played sophisticated compositions very accurately. I was half surprised to find out, that they were lacking improvisation skills. I think the main gift they got from me, beyond getting tips and tricks one could find on my youtube channel, is confidence.
It is our birthright to create music. Each one of us is a magician. Each one of us can take any composition and make it sound unique. Each one can compose live and create melodies out of pure inspiration, yes it does take a bit of daily practice, but it’s possible, starting with the simple exercises, each one can gain confidence, its up to you to believe in this, if you learn the golden rules, you know it could be done, and it can be easy.
