The Accordion
Is an instrument that, in some ways, has been forgotten by a large part of the population or is remembered, not incorrectly, but in very old fashioned way. But now days the accordion is being played again by the new generation, Many musicians, across so many different genres discovered that it’s sometimes nicer to play Accordion rather than the piano, or the Synth. No one can really carry a Piano around, but anyone can carry a digital piano , but the question is, do you prefer to hear music through an amp , do you like to play digital music or do you want to feel a connection with a real instrument that breaths, an instrument that someone had to work really hard to build.
The sound from the accordion comes out via the reeds, something like a mouth organ, something like a clarinet or a saxophone. I must say, this is so different to produce an organic sound then to hear a digital sample of a sound. You can squeeze the box left and right and create vibrato and special effects, this is what I call organic music, closer to a Violin, Accoustic guitar, Santur, the keyboardist can earn some respect for being a special musician who has a unique instrument with a unique sound, and there are al sorts of accordions of different sizes , of different models of different countries made in different decades, all produce a unique sound.
One can carry an accordion any where, the boxes sometimes look very cool , especially when they are vintage.
It is actually a very cool instrument that sounds great with many genres and sound fantastic when it’s remixed with electronic music. It’s vintage look is super amazing if you like retro designs , it looks like an old sports car from the 50s.
